10代で世界の貧困・紛争問題に興味を持ち、課外活動でダンスを始める。上智大学在学中の途上国教育支援活動やインド留学で、ダンスが子どもの成長やコミュニティの繋がりを促す様子を目の当たりにし、ダンスの道を志す。大学卒業後、ロンドンのTrinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Postgraduate Diploma Community Danceで子ども、高齢者、障害者など幅広い層の人々を主な対象にしたコミュニティダンスと呼ばれる身体表現活動の手法を学ぶ。
帰国後、ダンスワークショップの開催やダンサーとしての出演活動を本格的に行っている。身体表現を通じて世界を知り、共に活動することで一人ひとりが認め合い、新しい考え方や価値を見つけていくことを目指している。
Ayaka has been interested in international issues such as poverty and conflict since she was a teenager, at the same time she started dancing for her extra curricular activities . She decided to dedicate her life to dance when she visited developing countries and saw people empowered by dance.
After she finished earning a degree at Sophia University, she went to Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She took part in the Postgraduate Diploma Community Dance program where she studied contemporary dance and learned methods for leading dance creation for all types of people of all ages and abilities.
After returning to Japan, she has been focusing on leading dance workshops and participating in contemporary dance performances. Her aim is to bring people together and create space where they respect each other, know the world better and find new perspectives and values.
